Richard Foster blasts Ianis Hagi in Rangers win v Ross County

Richard Foster has blasted Rangers star Ianis Hagi in the 4-2 win against Ross County on Sunday afternoon.

The Romanian was at fault for the first goal, smashing a pass at John Lundstram that was badly controlled and led to the opener.

Foster insisted that it was “slack” all-round from the Bears, but that it possibly should have been disallowed for offside.

Speaking on BBC Sportscene last night, Foster was not impressed with what he saw from the Bears when conceding first.

“So slack from Rangers,” he said. “It’s a poor pass from Hagi.

“I thought they had waited too long, though.”

Harsh?

Hagi may have been putting way too much faith in Lundstram to control the ball under pressure as he smashed it his way, but that is how Steven Gerrard wants to play.

All of the Bears’ squad have to be ready to play quick, snappy football and if they can’t deal with that pressure, it doesn’t look too good.

Having said that, it should have been defended far better after possession was lost, with our defensive line all over the place.

For some reason, Leon Balogun stepped up and he was punished for that as the linesman didn’t give an offside.

Was Hagi at fault though? It’s hard to blame anyone for it, but the simple answer to it is that this defensive issue has to be sorted.

It won’t be as easy to score four goals against other sides this season, so handing teams one goal starts simply can’t happen – it’s time to sharpen up.
