Charlie Adam: Rangers set to invest in squad in January

Charlie Adam has insisted that Rangers will invest in their squad in the upcoming January transfer window.

The Bears announced their financial report for the past year on Thursday, with operating losses up to £23.5million at Ibrox.

Adam believes that the Scottish Premiership title race will go down to the wire with Celtic, and could lead to more investment in the squad.

Speaking on PLZ Soccer this afternoon, Adam insisted that a tight Scottish Premiership race will force the hand of the Bears.

“I think it could be very tight,” he said. “It will go down to the split, and how the fixtures come out in the split.

“I think Rangers will invest in January so that will be added as well.”

Needed?

Once again, we will likely see plenty of midfielders linked with a move to Ibrox – it happens all the time.

Having said that, the final third is the area that most likely needs strengthening in this current squad under Steven Gerrard.

Alfredo Morelos looks to have given up, with Kemar Roofe and Fashion Sakala are playing better wider of the central position.

Could a new centre-forward help? We certainly think so.

Joe Rothwell of Blackburn looks likely to sign a pre-contract to seal a move to Glasgow, according to Football League World.

That is another midfielder and won’t happen until the summer, could a permanent move for a different player happen sooner?
