Chris Sutton mocks Rangers star Leon Balogun v Brondby

It was a first-half to forget for Rangers defender Leon Balogun against Brondby in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

The Nigerian international headed into his own net in Denmark to hand the home side the lead on an evening where the Bears couldn’t afford to lose.

Chris Sutton has Tweeted his instant reaction to the own-goal and mocked Balogun for the unfortunate moment.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Sutton couldn’t help himself but to aim a jibe at Balogun for his header past Alan McGregor.

“Some header that,” he wrote.

Embarrassing.

Sutton simply can’t help himself when something happens to Rangers or one of their players in games that goes against them.

Balogun thought he simply had to get his head on the ball in his own six-yard box to prevent danger, but unfortunately for him, it rocketed into his own net.

The game was there for the taking before that, and it was a shame to see the Bears sit back when they could have stepped forward and dominated.

We needed more authority at the front post, someone needed to grab the responsibility by the scruff of the neck and made sure it didn’t get flicked on – that didn’t happen.

Celtic are in Hungary and are not guaranteed three points, so it would be a real shame if they were to lose, of course with all the sarcasm in the world.
