Rangers would offer Billy Gilmour all the game-time he wants – John Greechan
Scottish Daily Mail journalist John Greenchan suggests Rangers would be the ideal club for Billy Gilmour to join on loan in January.
Gilmour, 20, is easily the best young talent Scotland has but the Chelsea midfielder has found game-time hard to come by on loan at Norwich this season.
The ex-Rangers midfielder has played just six times in all competitions for the Canaries with his last Premier League outing coming in mid-September against Watford.

Rangers were linked with re-signing Gilmour in the summer with the Daily Record reporting Steven Gerrard was keen on him prior to his move to Carrow Road.
Chelsea do have the option to terminate Gilmour’s loan at Norwich in January [The Athletic] and Greechan feels a move to Ibrox would be ideal for him and for the Scottish national team.
Writing in the Scottish Daily Mail [print edition, November 3, page 71], Greechan said: “It probably makes too much sense to happen. But Billy Gilmour needs matches.
“Rangers would give him all the game time he could ever want.
“From a Scotland standpoint, we should all hope that the Chelsea midfielder gets as much exposure to first-team football as possible from January onwards.
“It hardly matters for which first team.
“We’ll need him in form for that winter World Cup.”

Oh yes, please
If Chelsea do terminate Gilmour’s loan in January due to a lack of game-time at Norwich – Rangers have to be at the front of the queue to sign him.
Gerrard has proven that he can work with young players from his time at Liverpool and also his work at Ibrox.
He could also do with some extra quality in a midfield that has underperformed at times this season and has also had several injury and suspension issues.
Gilmour would only be a short-term solution – we know that there’d be no way to sign such a highly-rated talent on a permanent basis.
It’s a shame we lost him when we did because he’d be taking the Scottish Premiership by storm right now but there wasn’t much the club could do about Chelsea poaching him from us when he was 15.
But if he made the move to Ibrox in January, he’d be one of the best players in Scottish football and one of the stand-out midfielders in Gerrard’s squad.
Let’s hope this happens.
