Simon Jordan hits back at Sky Sports complaints over Rangers clash

Simon Jordan has blasted complaints over Rangers 2-2 draw against Aberdeen not being broadcasted by the likes of Sky.

Mike Keegan of the Daily Mail shared that there was anger after Sky Sports decided to snub and not cover the clash with the Dons last week.

Jordan insisted that there can’t be any complaints, as the quality of Scottish football has been dreadful that he has seen.

Speaking on talkSPORT this morning, Jordan blasted the argument that has surfaced over the last couple of weeks.

“Having watched St Mirren vs Rangers which is 90 minutes of my life I’ll never get back,” he said. “I can understand why there isn’t a clamour to broadcast some of these games.

“In the grand scheme of things, you would like to think that a game, historically, would have great residence, but we’re now looking at the quality of Scottish football – from broadcasting views, it was really poor. It’s dreadful some of the quality.

“The quality isn’t good enough.”

Really?

Jordan was just firing off insult after insult here, and you could tell that Jim White looked ready to jump in and defend Scottish football.

It’s simply ludicrous that some of those comments can be made so easily.

The former Crystal Palace chairman did make one good point, and that was that the likes of Sky Sports agree to a specific number of games before the season even begins so there can be little wriggle room.

Having said that, with the passing of Walter Smith and such a big occasion against a big opponent at Ibrox, something should have been worked out.

It is down to the SPFL to come out and negotiate better deals in the future, and with Champions League football now guaranteed for one club from next season, surely, that will help things.
