Rangers have once again been linked with a move for Blackburn Rovers midfielder Joe Rothwell this week.

Football League World has reported that the Championship side believes a move to Ibrox is “almost certain” for the 26-year-old.

It is suggested that with Rothwell’s deal expiring at the end of this season, he will pen a pre-contract with Rangers in January.

TEAMtalk backed up those claims later this week, claiming that Rothwell is now “set” on a move to Glasgow.

That is despite interest from the likes of Leeds United and Newcastle over in the Premier League where his fan-base appears to be growing.

Rothwell was on the bench for Blackburn last night, despite starting all 12 games before that in the Championship this season.

Tony Mowbray is a huge fan of the midfielder and has tipped him for the very top despite him knowing that an exit is approaching at the end of this season.

We asked our esteemed panel of Rangers Super Fans about the latest links with Rothwell and the response was overwhelming.

The majority were left fuming with the impending transfer, insisting that there was no need for the Bears to bring in another midfielder.

Here’s what they said below…

It will be interesting to see the reaction if this move is completed, but based on this, there won’t be many happy faces around Ibrox.

Hopefully, they can be proved wrong should Rothwell arrive and make a massive difference in all competitions.

In other Rangers news, the Bears are set to seal a major signing with one player agreement almost certain in January
