Connor Goldson raves about Rangers youngster Nathan Patterson
Rangers defender Connor Goldson has showered heaps of praise on young right-back Nathan Patterson, heralding him as the future of the club.
Goldson has suggested that Patterson is one of the best young talents he has ever seen, and makes a bold claim that he will play in the Premier League at some point in his career.
The 20-year-old has enjoyed rapid progress at the Ibrox club, and has featured for Scotland in the latest international break.

His meteoric rise for club and country has drawn the attention of potential suitors but Goldson feels that Patterson’s immediate future lies at Ibrox.
He has hailed him as an “amazing” player who has got bundles of energy.
“I think he’s an amazing player. Everyone I have spoken to about him speak really highly of him. On and off the pitch, he wants to learn,” said Goldson as quoted by the Evening Times.
“I’ve really enjoyed playing next to him when he’s played. He’s a young boy full of energy but at the same time he’s got amazing qualities both going forward and defending.
“As I said, I do believe he is the future. He is one of the best young kids that I’ve ever seen, especially defensively.
“The English Premier League is the biggest league in the world and at some stage in his career I know that Nathan will play at that level.”

Future
Patterson is a fantastic young talent. He is defensively very strong, hardly makes mistakes and has got all the potential to be a top-class player in the future.
He has made five appearances for the Gers so far this term and has emerged as a natural successor to skipper James Tavernier.
Patterson is far from the finished product and he will only go strength to strength from here on if he keeps on applying himself.
The youngster was targeted by Everton during the summer transfer window and the Toffees have had a bid rejected as well.
According to the latest reports from the Daily Mail, the Merseyside club are looking to make another bid for Patterson in January. Manchester United are also interested in signing him.
Rangers are expected to demand a high transfer fee for him in case he leaves. Patterson is not bothered with transfer talks, and Goldson is absolutely right that he should stay with Rangers at the moment as he needs to play regularly.
With several Premier League clubs vying for his signature, Rangers could find it hard to prevent him from leaving if there’s a really good offer on the table.
