Brandon Barker poised for Rangers exit this summer
Rangers attacker Brandon Barker is expected to leave the club this summer, according to The Scottish Sun.
The 24-year-old is in the final year of his deal at the Ibrox and appeared to be on his way out this summer.
However, he ended up staying put at the Ibrox outfit and has thus far, been in one matchday squad in all competitions this season.
Time to part ways
Barker never quite established himself as someone who Steven Gerrard could rely on.
That’s why he was sent out on loan to prove his worth, but despite racking up plenty of appearances for Oxford United last term, the Gers boss is unimpressed by what he’s seen of the attacker.
He’s not handed him a single minute of league football this season – which shows just where he is in the pecking order at the club.
At 24, Barker’s career is far from over and he could look at options in Scotland or even second division clubs south of the border.
Karl Robinson once described the winger as an “incredible” talent, but we’ve not seen him live up to that billing at the Ibrox.
The best thing for all parties will be for him to part ways with the club at the end of the season and start afresh.
The club would also fancy getting his wages off their payroll and free up funds to strengthen in other departments.
