Rangers confirm starting XI vs Sparta Prague

Rangers have confirmed their starting XI for their Europa League clash away at Sparta Prague tonight.

Steven Gerrard has made five changes from the team that narrowly beat Dundee 1-0 on Saturday.

Allan McGregor returns in goal, despite Jon McLaughlin’s penalty save at the weekend.

In front of him is a back four consisting of James Tavernier, Calvin Bassey, Leon Balogun and Borna Barisic.

In midfield, John Lundstram drops to the bench, despite receiving praise from Gerrard, and Steven Davis will play alongside Joe Aribo and Glen Kamara.

Juninho Bacuna plays just behind the front two that will consist of Fasion Sakala and Kemar Roofe.

Gerrard tweaks his side.

Given that the Gers are playing Hibernian in a top of the table clash on Sunday, it is no surprise to see that he has made a few changes.

This is the perfect chance for Bacuna to stake a regular spot, while Sakala can build on his goal against Motherwell.

If things start to go wrong, then Gerrard can call on the likes of Alfredo Morelos, Scott Wright, and Ianis Hagi.

However, this is a strong side, and they should have more than enough to seal a point at least.

Of course, Sparta are a strong side themselves, but we believe that the Gers should be able to secure an important result in the Czech Republic tonight.

We will be watching on with interest to see how the Bears cope with their opposition, but we are confident in Gerrard’s team.

In other Rangers news, Chris Sutton has fired another dig at the club ahead of tonight’s game.
