Chris Sutton aims dig at Rangers ahead of Celtic clash v Bayer Leverkusen
Chris Sutton has aimed a sly dig at Rangers ahead of working for BT Sport on the Celtic game on Thursday night.
Celtic host Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League and Sutton will be on punditry duties for the Parkhead clash.
He wasn’t allowed to do that at Ibrox two weeks ago when Rangers denied access to both him and Neil Lennon due to apparent security issues.
In a post on his personal Twitter account on Thursday afternoon, Sutton has seemingly taken a swipe at the Gers about those security concerns.
He said: “Looking forward to game of the night (if I pass security checks) at Celtic Park covering Celtic v Bayer Leverkusen.”
He’ll never shut up about it
Rangers should have just let him in.
Has it really been worth all the media attention, the criticism and the mocking? Sutton’s a critic – he also criticises Celtic on the regular too.
He didn’t have much bad to say about us last season. He was bitter and disappointed, yes. But he was hardly making up random facts about our finances or going into depth about behind-the-scenes controversies or whatever.
Sutton should have been allowed to work for BT Sport from Ibrox and in stopping him from doing so, the Gers have created their own media circus.
Sutton won’t live this down and it’s unlikely going to be the final time we hear him yapping away about it.
Well done, Rangers. You’ve created your own problem here.
And yes, the club does deserve to be criticised for this. There’s a real issue at our club which seems to suggest they think they’re immune to criticism.
In other Rangers news, Livingston have cancelled an event at the Tony Macaroni amid concerns from Gers fans.
