Jack Ross believes his team are getting better and has sent a warning to Rangers

Hibernian manager Jack Ross is “excited” about the prospect of facing Rangers next Sunday and has warned the Gers about his side.

Hibs beat St Johnstone 1-0 on Sunday and are just one point behind the Gers after seven games played, and they could be emerging as potential title contenders.

Therefore, the game next Sunday is very important, and if the Bears win, they could move three points clear and if Hibs win, they could move two points clear at the top.

Speaking in his post-match press conference over the weekend [Daily Record], Ross said: “I’m excited about next week. We have a brilliant game to look forward to.

“To go into this game at that stage of the season as a top of the table clash is indicative of how we have grown as a team.

“The incentive is for us to beat the champions at home and go top, and it’s a brilliant incentive.”

Big game for the Gers.

This is an important week for Steven Gerrard’s men, and if they emerge from it with two victories, then they will be looking very good going into the international break.

Sparta Prague will be a very difficult match but so will Hibs on Sunday, and Gerrard will have to find a way to manage his squad and ensure that he can win both games.

It is early days in the SPFL, but the likes of Hibs and Hearts look a lot more competitive this season and even look stronger than Celtic.

Of course, all that could change after the international break, but as it stands, Hibs have to be seen as title contenders, and it should be a fascinating game on Sunday.

Hopefully, the Gers win, but we can’t see their opponents making it easy, and Ross is clearly confident.
