Rangers target Kevin Nisbet discusses transfer speculation

Hibernian striker Kevin Nisbet has been speaking about transfer speculation that saw him linked with a move to Rangers.

The Daily Record claimed that the Gers wanted to sign the Scottish international in the last transfer window, but in an interview with the Scottish Sun, Nisbet hinted that he could sign a new deal with Hibs.

The 24-year-old has started the season well for Jack Ross’ men with one goal and one assist in four league appearances, and it doesn’t appear as if he wants to go anywhere any time soon.

He said: “We are still in talks just now. Speculation happens in every single window. But it was just speculation.

“I’m happy to stay at Hibs, we have something good going on here, and I’m really happy to be a Hibs player.

“Hopefully, the contract can get sorted soon. It helps settle your mind. As soon as that gets sorted, then I can look forward.”

Nisbet not going anywhere.

The Bears have a few forward options in Alfredo Morelos, Kemar Roofe, Fashion Sakala, and Jermain Defoe.

However, after allowing Cedric Itten to leave the club on loan, you could argue that the Gers could have done with another striker.

Certainly, Nisbet could have been that man, and Ally McCoist has described him as “excellent” in the past [Sky Sports via the Edinburgh Reporter].

So, he has the right admirers, and you would think that he could be a great addition to Steven Gerrard’s team, especially because the Gers have only scored more than two in a league game three times this season.

However, these are strong quotes from the Hibs forward, and it doesn’t seem as if he will be going anywhere.

Therefore, the Gers might have to move on and try to find another striker to complement their current strike force.

Nisbet sounds happy at Easter Road, and this could be a player for Gers fans to forget about.
