Neil Doncaster and Murdo MacLennan will not be at Rangers on Sunday

Two key members of the SPFL will not be at Rangers on Sunday as the club prepare to unveil a new flag after their 2020/21 Premiership title win.

Neil Doncaster and Murdo MacLennan will not be at Ibrox as the row over league sponsors Cinch escalates after the Gers refused to advertise the new sponsor on the opening day of the season.

The Scottish Sun report also claims that the new flag will not feature Cinch as the club continues to fight against the league.

SPFL take a stand.

Clearly, the SPFL aren’t happy with the Gers, but we don’t really think that many Bears fans will be too bothered about Doncaster and MacLennan not attending.

This is a special day for the club after they won the title last season, and we can’t imagine the celebrations will be ruined because these two have decided not to show up.

To be honest, we wouldn’t be surprised if many Gers fans are pleased that Doncaster and MacLennan have decided to give the game a miss.

The SPFL seems to feel like they are taking significant action against the Gers, but we hardly think it will register at Ibrox as there are many more important things happening.

This Cinch row looks like it won’t be ending any time soon, and this is just the latest event to happen as the situation shows no sign of being resolved [The Scotsman].

Hopefully, the club and the league can find some agreement over this new sponsorship deal at some point because this argument has gone on long enough.
