Tom English rips into an official Rangers media partner on Twitter
Tom English has aimed a dig at official Rangers media partner Mark Dingwall after he defended the club for banning Chris Sutton and Neil Lennon.
On Thursday, the two former Celtic players were denied access to Ibrox for the Europa League game against Lyon because they were deemed to be security risks.
This led Dingwall to tweet on his personal account about both Sutton and Lennon in reaction to Chris McLaughlin’s update. Dingwall said that Lennon’s behaviour “has been reprehensible” and that the club wouldn’t want him on their premises.
English reacted on his Twitter account saying: “This guy’s fans forum is an official media partner of Rangers FC.”
Does English have a point?
The tweet from Dingwall is not that professional, so you can see why English is clearly a bit confused about why the Gers have allowed Dingwall’s FollowFollow forum to be an official partner.
The situation involving Sutton and Lennon could easily escalate with the former Celtic manager looking to take legal advice after he was blocked from entering Ibrox [The Herald].
Rangers have obviously decided that Sutton and Lennon were not allowed in last night, and it will be interesting to see if they will be blocked from entering games in the future.
The Gers have their policy, and it is clearly going to annoy many pundits and other reporters across the season, so we can see why English is annoyed about this official media partner.
However, we can’t see why the Bears would change their mind about their favoured media partners, and it seems as if the likes of English are just going to have to get used to it.
In other Rangers news, Tom English has been left baffled by the latest development from Ibrox.
