Tom English: 'Extraordinary' that Rangers have banned Chris Sutton and Neil Lennon
Tom English has shared his thoughts on Chris Sutton and Neil Lennon being banned by Rangers.
Speaking on his Twitter account, the BBC Scotland journalist claimed that the Gers calling pundits a security risk was “extraordinary”.
Sutton revealed on his Twitter account on Thursday that he and Lennon had been denied access to Ibrox for the match against Lyon tonight because of security reasons.
However, this clearly doesn’t wash with English who said: “Rangers saying that pundits are a security risk. Pundits! This is extraordinary.”
Is English right?
Well, this is a totally bizarre situation, and we haven’t seen anything like this.
However, for whatever reason, the Bears have decided that Lennon and Sutton are a security risk and therefore, cannot be let into Ibrox tonight.
This has forced BT to find replacements, while the former Celtic boss Lennon is seeking legal advice over what to do next [The Herald].
However, it is very clear that English doesn’t agree with the Gers’ latest action and he is clearly baffled by the whole thing as well.
It remains to be seen why Sutton and Lennon have been classed as security risks, but that was the reason they were given, and it will be very interesting to see what happens next.
It is unlikely that either Lennon or Sutton are going to take this decision lying down and we expect this situation to further escalate in the coming days.
This is an incredible situation that we find ourselves in, and we need to see what the Gers will do next.
