Rangers starting XI vs Lyon confirmed
Rangers have confirmed their starting XI for their Europa League clash against Lyon.
There are four changes from the side which beat St Johnstone 2-1 on Sunday as Allan McGregor returns in goal and senior shot-stopper John McLaughlin drops to the bench.
Filip Helander has been ruled out for the foreseeable future and has been replaced by Connor Goldson, while Borna Barisic replaces Calvin Bassey.
In midfield, John Lundstram comes into the side in place of Kemar Roofe to play alongside Steven Davis and Glen Kamara.
In the attack, Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos keep their places.
Gerrard makes a few slight tweaks.
McGregor returning is a huge boost for the Gers especially given just how well he played last season.
However, Helander’s injury is a blow, and Goldson has the chance to impress after an average start to the season.
There are plenty of options off the bench in Roofe, Fashion Sakala, and Scott Wright should things start to go wrong.
Lyon are a strong side who have plenty of Champions League experience, so this will be a tough test for Gerrard’s men, but a full Ibrox will back them, and we would hope that they can get their Europa League campaign off to a good start.
This is a strong team, and we can’t wait to see how they do against a powerful Lyon side.
It should be a fantastic match, and we can’t wait for this one to get underway, and we are confident the Bears can do well.
In other Rangers news, a bunch of Gers fans have allegedly vandalised Lyon’s team bus.
