Lyon trio cleared to play against Rangers on Thursday
Lyon have been handed a treble boost as Bruno Guimaraes, Lucas Paqueta, and Tino Kadewere have all been cleared to play against Rangers.
The three players had been expected to miss the match tomorrow because they had travelled to countries on the Covid red travel list, but the Scottish government have intervened, and all three could play [Glasgow Live].
The government claimed that they had carefully considered the risks and decided that the Ligue 1 side should be allowed to play all three without any of them quarantining.
Not great news for the Gers.
Steven Gerrard has many of his own problems to deal with as Filip Helander has been ruled out for the foreseeable future, and the last thing he needed was to hear that Lyon could select this trio [Sky Sports].
Guimaraes has three caps for Brazil and has also appeared in the Champions League, while Paqueta has scored two goals already this season.
So, he is another danger man, and the Gers will have to find a way to deal with him.
The Ligue 1 giants are set to be without former Celtic forward Moussa Dembele, but having this trio available will be a boost [Radio Scoop].
It should also make the game a better spectacle as Lyon can now call on some of their most important players, which they might not have been able to do.
If any of these three have an impact on the game, then we can’t imagine the Gers will be too happy with the Scottish government for allowing them to play.
In other Rangers news, Steven Gerrard has confirmed one Gers star will be ready to face Lyon.
