Tam McManus: Rangers fans desperate for new Glen Kamara contract
Tam McManus has insisted that Rangers fans will be desperate to see Glen Kamara stick at Ibrox for the long-term.
It has been made no secret that the Finland international is locked in contract talks in Glasgow, with no decision reached as of yet.
McManus believes there will be plenty of interest in England, and claimed Kamara was more than good enough for that.
Speaking to PLZ Soccer on Tuesday evening, McManus was stunned with the business to bring Kamara to Ibrox.
“Fantastic footballer,” he said. “I think £50,000 they paid Dundee is some buy.
“I think he’s a great player, and I think Rangers fans will be desperate for him to sign a new contract, whether he’s got sniffs from England.
“I know he’s from London, he’s well capable of playing in the English Premiership.”
Get it done.
After crashing out of the Champions League during the window, it sparked fears that some of the stars would need to leave Ibrox.
Kamara was among the names including Ryan Kent tipped with big-money exits, but nothing came of it in the end.
That then led to a newfound urgency in contract talks, and we are all hoping for a breakthrough soon, but there is no desperation as of yet.
With top spot in Scotland claiming an automatic spot in the Champions League group stage next season, there is more motivation to succeed.
If the Bears are clear as they were last season as the year progresses, Kamara could confidently sign knowing he is guaranteed to play in the best competition around the globe.
Fingers crossed this gets done.
