Joe Aribo & Leon Balogun forced to miss

Rangers duo Joe Aribo and Leon Balogun have been forced to miss Nigeria’s clash with Cape Verde on Tuesday.

Glasgow Live has shared that with Cape Verde being red-listed due to COVID-19, anyone that travelled there would be forced into a 10-day quarantine back in the United Kingdom.

That means Steven Gerrard should have both Balogun and Aribo available for Saturday’s clash at St Johnstone.

Speaking after the news, Watford player William Troost-Ekong shared that the players missing out feel a sense of neglect.

“We want to be part of the team and I feel like we are neglecting the team a bit by not travelling with them to Cape Verde,” he said.

“It’s a difficult one because obviously, it’s a rule that has been set by the UK Government.”

Anger.

This is the latest string in a major row in the Nigerian squad, who have also been left “furious” by unpaid bonuses.

Add to that this latest development, and there isn’t much positivity around the African nation’s camp at this moment.

Although they may not be happy, having both Balogun and Aribo available is brilliant news for everyone involved at Ibrox.

Both were critical in the Old Firm victory against Celtic last week, especially Balogun filling in at right-back.

With Filip Helander struggling with a problem on international duty, he will be needed at St Johnstone over the weekend.

It’s time to get back to Glasgow and prepare ahead of another important clash.
