Tam McManus: Alfredo Morelos will leave Rangers next summer
Tam McManus has insisted that Rangers star Alfredo Morelos will be “itching” to leave Ibrox next summer.
The Colombian has been linked with Porto all summer but remained in Glasgow past this week’s deadline day.
McManus believes that there isn’t much more to achieve with the Bears, and he will likely leave as he hits his peak years.
Speaking to PLZ Soccer on Friday evening, McManus made the major transfer prediction many won’t appreciate.
“I think Rangers have done well to hold on to him,” he said.
“He’s 25 now, he’s not a young player anymore. He is approaching his peak years so I think he’ll be itching now, he’s done what he’s had to do at Rangers.
“I think it’s time for him to go, Porto would be a great move for him. I think he’ll leave in the summer.”
Time to accept it?
Steven Gerrard would be shaking his head watching this, but it may be time for everyone to accept it.
Morelos isn’t one to sit back and let time pass by, and sooner rather than later, he could easily voice his concerns.
The Colombian did admit this week that he hopes he can move to a bigger league, and that is the first sign that he will start to slowly push for a way out.
Having said all of that, winning the league this year grants automatic qualification for the Champions League group stages and that could be a big carrot.
Morelos having that guaranteed to him could change everything, or that is what we will be hoping for over the next 12 months.
