Jack Hendry has revealed that he told Fashion Sakala to sign for Rangers
Former Celtic defender Jack Hendry has divulged that he told Fashion Sakala to sign for Rangers this summer.
Speaking to the Daily Record, the Scottish centre-back explained that he told the 24-year-old about how big the club is and what Gers fans can expect from the striker.
The pair played together at KV Oostende last season, and he is clearly a huge fan of Sakala and expects him to have a big impact.
He said: “Getting Fashion on a free could be a really, really shrewd signing from Rangers.
“He has great pace and is really quick, and that is a huge weapon, but there is so much more to his game.
“Fashion is also a player who excites the fans and gets them off their seats.
“I have to say he will thrive in that sort of atmosphere, playing in front of a full Ibrox crowd.
“The conversations I had with Fashion were really positive, and I told him to go and grab this opportunity.
“Rangers are a massive football club, and from what I have heard, the coaching staff there are excellent.”
Hendry helps the Gers sign Sakala?
The 24-year-old made 34 appearances last season for the Belgian side and scored 16 goals, which is a good return for one of the unfancied sides in that league.
Rangers then signed the forward earlier this summer, but injuries have disrupted the start of the season for Sakala, though Hendry is backing him to come good.
It is fantastic to see that even though the centre-back used to play for the Gers’ great rivals, he still told Sakala to move to Ibrox.
Bears fans are yet to see the best of Sakala, but it is clear that Hendry is expecting him to have a good career at Ibrox.
Hendry offers some great insight into Sakala, and we are thrilled to see him speak so highly of the Gers.
