Rangers should make a move to bring Danilho Doekhi to the club on a pre-contract agreement
Rangers were heavily linked with a move for Danilho Doekhi by De Telegraaf in the last transfer window, but nothing came of their interest.
However, with the 23-year-old’s contract at Vitesse Arnhem set to expire next summer, we believe that the Gers should be lining up a move to bring Doekhi to Ibrox on a pre-contract agreement.
The Gers have done this in the past with Nnamdi Ofoborh, and a similar arrangement for Doekhi could be exactly what the Gers need.
The centre-back will be free to speak to other clubs in January, and the Gers need to be at the front of that queue to ensure that they can bring the defender to Ibrox.
Connor Goldson’s contract expires at the end of this campaign, and he is also not in the best of form, so perhaps it is now time for the club to start thinking about a replacement for him, and Doekhi could be that man.
The 23-year-old made 32 appearances last season in the league but has not made a single appearance so far this campaign because of a hamstring injury.
He has also been described as “fantastic” by Vitesse’s manager Thomas Letsch in the past, and a pre-contract agreement just seems like the perfect deal to us [World News Today].
This way, the Gers don’t have to fork out a transfer fee, but they will be signing a player who could potentially become a real force in Scottish football.
It remains to be seen exactly what happens, but this could be a deal to keep an eye on, and we hope the Gers try and get Doekhi on a pre-contract agreement.
