Alfredo Morelos admits he wants to leave Rangers 'soon'
Alfredo Morelos has admitted that he wants to leave Rangers soon after the Gers managed to keep him during the summer transfer window.
Speaking to Colombian radio station El VBar de Caracol Radio, the 25-year-old admitted that he wanted to move on from the Gers in the near future.
However, he also praised the club and the SPFL for helping him develop as a player, but it does seem as if he has his heart set on a move to a top European league.
He said: “My stay [with] Rangers continues, and I feel happy; I started in the best way, scoring goals and what is to come. It’s important to me.
“An agreement has not been reached with the teams; I am calm, and I am a young player; I hope that soon [I will be given the opportunity to leave].
“Here in Rangers, I have already been champion, I have made history, and we hope that it will happen—the opportunity to come out in the best way.
“Each player wants to improve each day and be in a better league, in a more watched league.
“This league has taught me important things in my career. I started in the best way; the previous [season], I scored many goals. Also, may it be God’s opportunity and may a big step be taken soon.”
Morelos to leave soon?
The Gers managed to keep all of their star players in this transfer window, but it is thought that won’t be possible going forward [the Daily Record].
One of the first to leave could well be Morelos, who appears to think that he has earned his move away from Ibrox.
Certainly, it will be interesting to see what happens in January and if any clubs from the top five European leagues come in for the forward.
In his time with Rangers, Morelos has scored a whopping 97 goals in 189 appearances and helped them win the title last season.
It would be nice to think that he would stay and become a true legend, but it seems he sees his future away from Glasgow.
In other Rangers news, one Gers player apparently came very close to leaving on deadline day.
