Rangers could sign Glen Kamara replacement if Finland ace leaves today
Rangers would try to replace Glen Kamara on deadline day if the Finland midfielder leaves Ibrox before 11pm, according to Sky Sports.
The broadcaster reports that there is interest in Kamara, 25, and striker Alfredo Morelos ahead of the transfer cut-off tonight.
It is understood that there’s nothing close to completion yet but if anything does happen with Kamara, “there is a chance Rangers would then go back into the market to bring in a replacement”.
If Kamara does end up leaving Ibrox by the end of play today, could we finally see Joey Veerman make the switch to Rangers from Heerenveen?
The 22-year-old Dutch midfielder has been linked with the Gers for most of the summer transfer window.
Last month, The Times reported that the Gers had made a £3.8million bid for the playmaker and were considering launching an increased offer for him.
Whether that actually happened or not remains to be seen but either way, there hasn’t been much concrete about Veerman for a while.
It was always likely to be a costly move for the Scottish champions if they were to try and sign the Heerenveen ace so affording it could only happen if someone was moved on.
Kamara will fetch the Light Blues a massive profit on the £50,000 paid for him a few years ago so it’s likely that any deal for Veerman is dependent upon the Finland international being sold.
We don’t want that to happen so we’d rather miss out on Veerman if that’s the case.
In other Rangers news, a player has been spotted holding a Celtic shirt aloft after leaving Ibrox.
