Ciaran Dickson spotted with Celtic shirt after Rangers release
Ciaran Dickson looks set to cross the Old Firm divide after the ex-Rangers teen was spotted with a Celtic shirt.
According to GlasgowLive, the 19-year-old midfielder is potentially joining the Bhoys after a leaked image showed him at Celtic Park with a green and white hooped shirt.
It is understood that since being released by Rangers earlier this summer, Dickson has had trials at Burnley and Gillingham but he now seems set to stay in Glasgow – albeit with the Gers’ bitter rivals.
Dickson’s exit isn’t anything that anyone was upset or gutted about.
The young midfielder only ever played once for the Light Blues’ first-team and his loan spell at Queen of the South last season saw him play just five times in the Scottish Championship. He only completed 90 minutes twice for them too.
He was probably never going to make it at Ibrox, especially when there are apparent issues with his professionalism and behind-the-scenes attitude.
According to The Athletic journalist Jordan Campbell, there were questions raised about his discipline and prior to being released by the club, Dickson actually failed to turn up to Rangers training.
He broke Steven Gerrard’s trust there and he also set himself back massively in terms of his development and future prospects.
Now he’s signing for last season’s runners-up in the Premiership and is unlikely to be getting near to their first-team either.
Celtic are probably signing Dickson just to try and ruffle some feathers in Govan but ultimately, they’re signing someone who they haven’t done their homework on.
If you knew a player had issues with discipline and didn’t bother turning up to training then why would you want him?
In other Rangers news, it’s bad news for this Gers fan favourite if the club makes a late swoop for a new signing.
