Michael Stewart sends message to Rangers ahead of clash v Malmo

Michael Stewart has urged Rangers to “do it for Scottish football” ahead of the second leg of their Champions League qualifier against Malmo on Tuesday night.

Steven Gerrard’s side return to Ibrox after losing 2-1 away in Sweden last week with Steven Davis’ late strike keeping the tie alive.

Ex-Hearts and Hibs midfielder Stewart wants to see the Gers turn the tie around and win on Tuesday night.

“Good luck to Rangers tonight against Malmo,” said Stewart via his personal Twitter account prior to the game.”

“A huge game for them and hopefully they can do the business in front of a packed Ibrox.

“Do it for Scottish football.”

Wow

It must have been really tough for Stewart to tweet that so fair play to him.

The BBC pundit is usually one of the biggest anti-Rangers voices on the television and on the radio so credit when it’s due, he must have really forced himself to tweet a good luck message to the Gers ahead of their match against Malmo.

Rangers are the only team flying the Scottish flag in the Champions League with Celtic getting knocked out before we even entered the competition.

We really need to get a win tonight otherwise we’ll be just as bad as them and dropping into the Europa League.

Although, if that does happen, at least we can have another shot at getting to the knock-out stages and trying to show some improvement.

But everyone should have their eyes set on the Champions League group stages for now.

Come on Rangers, you can do it.
