Rangers handed a lifeline in their pursuit of Zinedine Ferhat
Rangers have been handed a lifeline if they want to sign Zinedine Ferhat after it was reported that he isn’t keen on a move to Strasbourg.
The Gers were linked with a move for the 28-year-old earlier in this transfer window [Foot Mercato] and now, according to Alsa Sports, Ferhat is not that keen on a move to Strasbourg and “is awaiting an offer from a more upscale club”.
Now, given that the Gers have a chance of playing in the Champions League group stages, you could say that they would fit this mould. Even if they didn’t make the group stages of UEFA’s premier competition, the Gers are surely a much more attractive prospect than Strasbourg?

The chance to play in front of a huge crowd at Ibrox and under Steven Gerrard must be an enticing proposition for any player, and after this report, we think the Gers are well placed to sign Ferhat, should they want to.
The attacking midfielder scored six goals and provided ten assists last season for Nimes in Ligue 2. However, he has also played in Ligue 1 and is a full Algerian international.
So he has played at the top level and could be a great addition to this Rangers side.

The 28-year-old has been described as “fantastic” by Ligue 1’s official website and could add some more guile and craft to Gerrard’s team.
Ultimately, it seems unlikely that he will be going to Strasbourg, and if the Gers want him, we believe they could sign him as they are a much more enticing club.
In other Rangers news, Alfredo Morelos has been spotted in an unusual location.
