Cammy Bell: Ryan Kent can help Rangers beat Malmo
Former Rangers goalkeeper Cammy Bell expects Ryan Kent to play a decisive role in the game against Malmo.
Rangers will be looking to qualify for the Champions League group stages, but will have to navigate past a tricky challenge from Swedish side Malmo.
Bell believes Kent could be one of the players the Scottish champions could rely on in the game.
Speaking to BBC Scotland ahead of the game, he said, “They’ll obviously try and exploit Malmo with players like Ryan Kent and obviously others going fast and hard at them.
“So they’ll probably be looking to get a couple of goals lead back to Ibrox and hopefully for a good result then to progress to the next stage.”
Need Kent firing
Whenever Kent plays well, usually the entire side follows suit and puts up good performances.
Even in our 3-0 win over Livingston, Kent may not have found the back of the net or provided an assist, but he was a constant thorn in the opposition’s side and ended up being a threat whenever we had the ball in the middle and final thirds.

He made four key passes all game and boasted an immaculate passing accuracy of 95 percent – misplacing just two of his attempted 37 passes. [Sofascore]
Having Kent in our side mentally gives us a 1-0 lead before kick-off and more often than not the Englishman lives up to his billing and carries the burden of the team on his shoulders along with a few other players.
He is one of Steven Gerrard’s favourites and the Gers boss has waxed his lyrical in the past.
Last season, after he won the Player of the Month award, Gerrard said, per the club’s Twitter handle, “Ryan Kent certainly deserves to be Player of the Month and has been in sensational form.
“He has been fantastic to work with. In terms of my award, I think it is a collective reward for the full staff during lockdown and pre-season but also for the work of the players.”
We’re hoping to see Kent continue more of his good performances this season and helps guide us to our 56th league title.
