Rangers to potentially be allowed a huge crowd for upcoming Champions League game
Rangers could be allowed a huge crowd for their Champions League qualifying game against Malmo on August 10, according to a report from the Daily Record.
They claim that should all restrictions be lifted on August 9, the Gers could be one of the first clubs to benefit and could be allowed to fill Ibrox if social distancing is removed.
Rangers have not reached the group stages of the Champions League since the 2010/11 season, so this could be a massive boost for Steven Gerrard’s side, should the Scottish government lift all restrictions.

Huge boost.
Attendances at Ibrox have been steadily growing over the last few weeks and have jumped up from 2,000 to 23,000; however, that is still some way short of the stadium’s capacity.
So, hopefully, the government give Rangers the green light to pack Ibrox and make an already special occasion even better.
We can imagine there will be a lot of nervous Rangers fans and board members this week as they wait to see what Nicola Sturgeon says about restrictions in Scotland.

If everything goes to plan, Malmo could be in for quite a shock when they arrive at Ibrox as Gerrard’s side look to make it into the group stages of the Champions League.
This report suggests that Ibrox could be back up to pre-pandemic numbers very soon, which would be exciting for fans and players. We just have to trust that the Scottish government will finally ease restrictions and allow fans to return safely to Ibrox in huge numbers.
In other Rangers news, Alfredo Morelos has dropped a hint on his Instagram about his return.
