Alex McLeish reacts to Conor Goldson contract reports
We’re delighted to welcome former Rangers manager Alex McLeish as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…
Alex McLeish has hailed Rangers as they close in on a new contract for defender Conor Goldson this month.
The Daily Record has reported that the Bears enforcer has put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal at Ibrox.
McLeish believes winning the Scottish Premiership will have inspired Goldson to stick around and win more silverware.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, McLeish said, “Good news.
“He must be happy in Glasgow. We have spoken many times about him potentially going back to England, but a lot of them realise the magnitude of the club.
“They realise how good it is winning trophies with these clubs. When you do that, it inspires you to win more.”
Goldson has been one of our best signings in recent Ibrox history.
Playing every single minute of our invincible campaign, Steven Gerrard will heavily rely on the enforcer to drive this team forward.
With another three years reportedly being agreed on his deal, there is only the future of Glen Kamara to solve in this title-winning side.
The announcement is set to come this week it has been reported, and it will turn a good week, into a great one, especially if a big win is secured over Malmo.
It will be hard to find any club with such a good feel-factor right now than the Gers, with things set to get even better this week.
