Confirmed Rangers starting XI v Livingston

Rangers have confirmed their starting XI for the Scottish Premiership opener with Livingston this afternoon.

The Bears have named Fashion Sakala as their lone striker, with Ianis Hagi and Ryan Kent playing in-behind.

Confirmed on their official Twitter account prior to kick-off, Steven Gerrard has placed John Lundstram and Allan McGregor on the bench as Borna Barisic misses out completely.

This is where it all begins.

Rangers will not only want to get their season off to a flyer, but they will want to keep their unbeaten league record going even further.

The Light Blues went through last season unscathed and were not regularly troubled to lose that record.

Gerrard always demands more though and will be pushing his side even further as they also prepare for their Champions League qualifiers against Malmo next week.

Rangers

El Bufano.

There is no Alfredo Morelos to choose from, something we knew would be happening, but it is still a glaring omission.

El Bufalo tormented Livingston last season but is still stuck in quarantine until the start of next week before returning to training.

Gerrard has a wealth of options, with Cedric Itten also having had the pre-season of his life in goalscoring terms, smashing home against Real Madrid and others.

Hopefully, we can get stuck in early and make this an easy afternoon – one thing for certain is that the fans will make this a hostile environment, as they welcome back the champions to competitive action.
