Rangers fans have been reacting after it was reported that George Edmundson is on the verge of leaving Ibrox to join Ipswich.

According to Ipswich news site TWTD, the 23-year-old defender has headed down to England to put the finishing touches to a move.

It is understood that Rangers have accepted a bid for Edmundson, who’s been offered a four-year deal by Ipswich.

Rangers fans are seemingly glad to see the back of the former Oldham defender, who’s struggled to impress both on and off the pitch during his spell in Scotland.

Edmundson has played just 17 times for the Gers since joining the club in 2019 and last season, he was shipped out on loan to Derby in the winter after breaching COVID protocol.

One Gers fan feels it’s the “right time to sell” Edmundson while another says he wasted a good opportunity in Govan.

Here is what they said:

If you think Edmundson was good enough for Rangers then you have to convince us that he’s better than Connor Goldson, Filip Helander, Leon Balogun and Nikola Katic.

Out of those four, all but Katic played a massive role in the title-winning season last time out and once Katic is back to full fitness, you’d expect him to be starting every now and then.

Edmundson isn’t anywhere near their level and if he’s joining an English League One club, he’s miles away from the quality the Gers need.

In other Rangers news, fans want the club to “get rid” of this attacking player.
