Alex McLeish sends warning to Rangers winger Kai Kennedy
We’re delighted to welcome former Rangers manager Alex McLeish as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…
Alex McLeish has urged Rangers winger Kai Kennedy to “keep his feet on the ground” amid recent speculation linking him with a move to England.
The 19-year-old joined Dunfermline on loan on Thursday [22/07/21], but he has also been subject to bids from Premier League club West Ham.
It was claimed by the The 4th Official Twitter account that the Gers had rejected a £1million bid from the east London side for the Scotland Under-19 international.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, ex-Rangers boss McLeish has issued a warning to the teenager.
“He has to keep his feet on the ground,” McLeish said.
“We always look for our young players to be humble, you don’t want people getting carried away and getting too big for their boots.
“It’s always good for footballers to have good values and those two ingredients – talent and humility.”

It remains to be seen whether West Ham will return again for Kennedy – the Gers do have a recall option.
The diminutive winger is one of the brightest prospects to come out of Auchenhowie in recent years, so the club will be loathed to lose him so early into his fledgling career.
That much is evidenced in the club’s dismissal of West Ham’s bid, but with the spending power of Premier League clubs down south, there’s always the chance their arm could be twisted.
That’s not to say Kennedy would be a devastating loss – he still has much to prove, but we’d like him to do that at Rangers.
In other Rangers news, this Light Blues player is to be unveiled at his 21/22 club next week, the Gers have inserted a significant clause.
