Rangers star Alfredo Morelos has not asked to leave or indicated he wants to exit Ibrox
Alfredo Morelos has not asked Rangers to leave or indicated in any way that he has had enough of life at Ibrox, according to a report from the Daily Record.
They claim that reports from Portugal had indicated that the Colombian had asked to leave the Gers but they have been told by Rangers that isn’t the case. The report then goes on to state that Morelos is expected back for pre-season training as “scheduled” and Steven Gerrard expects him “to be fit and ready to hit the ground running”.
There have been so many reports from Portugal about Morelos already this summer but this latest update suggests that the 25-year-old is happy at Ibrox, which is good news.
Morelos to stay?
The way some of the reports in the Portuguese media have been going on you would have thought Morelos was already a Porto player.
However, so far, they haven’t even made a bid for him and the Colombian has not asked to leave Ibrox, so he is nowhere near becoming a Porto player at the moment [A Bola].
It is no wonder that the Portuguese giants are interested because Morelos has a superb goalscoring record and is still young but he is still a Rangers player and will probably remain that way until a huge bid comes in for him [The Athletic].
This is a reassuring report for Rangers fans and suggests that a lot of these reports from Portugal have been jumping the gun to say the least.
Of course, there is still a long time to go until the transfer window shuts and Porto could still sign Morelos, but for now, there doesn’t seem to be too much to worry about regarding the Colombian and the Gers.
In other Rangers news, one Gers starlet is set to be sent out on loan.
