Rangers to face competition for Bright Osayi-Samuel

Rangers will apparently face some stern competition if they want to sign Bright Osayi-Samuel this summer from Fenerbahce, according to a report from Fotospor in Turkey.

The Gers have been linked with a move for the former QPR winger who moved to Turkey in January. However, it appears as if it is not just Rangers who are keen, with Celtic and Fulham also mentioned.

At the same time, Fenerbahce want to use Osayi-Samuel in a deal that would see Henry Onyekuru arrive in Turkey. They also claim that Fenerbahce are still awaiting the “expected” offer from Rangers for the 23-year-old.

Will the Gers sign Osayi-Samuel?

Rangers were first linked with a move for the winger in June, but as of yet, nothing has happened, and he remains in Turkey [Fotospor].

While Osayi-Samuel was in the Championship with QPR, he proved to be a lively player and scored 11 goals and provided 13 assists.

So, you would think he would be able to handle the demands of the SPFL and could be a good addition to Steven Gerrard’s side, providing the Gers can fight off what could be some fierce competition.

A move to Fulham would allow Osayi-Samuel to return to London, but Rangers can offer Champions League football and the chance to play in front of a passionate fanbase, so it could come down to what the former QPR winger wants.

Of course, he could end up going to France to play for Monaco, but if the Gers can get a deal together for Osayi-Samuel, we would be surprised if he picked Monaco over Rangers.

It remains to be seen what happens, but this could be a story to keep an eye on as the window progresses.
