Rangers would likely accept £10m for Glen Kamara - Keith Jackson
Rangers would likely accept £10million to sell Glen Kamara during this summer window, according to Keith Jackson.
The Daily Record writer admitted that it would now make more sense for Steven Gerrard to sell his star man at Ibrox.
John Lundstram arrived during the week, and it is suggested that there is now suitable cover to allow the Finland star to leave.
With the likes of Ryan Jack and Scott Arfield likely to be ready for the new Scottish Premiership season next month, there are plenty of options.
Jackson used that as his main explaning point, writing on the future of Kamara in a Daily Record column this morning.
“That’s seven players fighting for three starting paces so it does look as if the Rangers squad is now top-heavy,” he wrote.
“Kamara has been an excellent signing but it makes sense to cash in now so long as the price is right. A bid of around £10m should do it.”
Gerrard will be looking at this suggestion and laughing.
The main sticking point is the contract of Kamara, and it always will be until it is finally resolved at Ibrox.
With only one year remaining on his current deal, if it isn’t resolved sooner rather than later, the Bears will be forced to sell or keep him and let him leave for nothing next season.
The pre-contract market is something we have exploited perfectly in the last couple of seasons, so Ross Wilson will be keen to avoid that one.
Kamara is essential at Ibrox and has admitted that he would love to stay, so now the ball is firmly in our courts – it is time to use it.
