Alex McLeish: Rangers can't stand in way of Alfredo Morelos exit
We’re delighted to welcome former Rangers manager Alex McLeish as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…
Alex McLeish has insisted that Rangers won’t be able to stand in the way of Alfredo Morelos leaving Ibrox this summer.
Porto have been heavily linked with another move for the Colombian, and he has been described as the dream move for the Portuguese club.
McLeish believes it could be a summer of change in Glasgow, with players such as Glen Kamara also linked with an exit.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, McLeish said, “This is an interesting time for Rangers now.
“They have interest in one or two players, Kamara also. Morelos has been out there for a long time, will he go? I feel that if the right offer comes in for Rangers, it will be difficult to stop him from leaving.
“It will be down to the player, I could see some changes.”
Morelos has never shied away from the fact that he wants to move away from Scotland in the near future.
The Colombian has previously admitted that he would love to play in the Premier League, and although Porto don’t give him that, they are one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
McLeish has insisted that if the right offer comes, Rangers won’t be able to stand in the way of Morelos leaving, and that is spot on.
The striker is currently away with Colombia, and any move will be on the back of his mind, although this could move quickly upon his return.
