Rangers winger Kai Kennedy wanted on loan by Partick Thistle and Dunfermline
Scottish Championship duo Partick Thistle and Dunfermline want Rangers winger Kai Kennedy on loan, according to The Daily Record.
The 19-year-old spent last season on loan at Inverness and Raith Rovers, penning a new two-and-half-year deal in January.
Kennedy is not in manager Steven Gerrard’s first-team plans yet, and is expected to spend next season away from Ibrox.
He is not short of suitors keen on a temporary deal, and another exit could soon be confirmed.
Much-needed loan move
Kennedy was involved in a contract dispute with Rangers last summer, with Gerrard demoting him from the first-team squad and insisting he would not work with youngsters who had an ‘ego’ [BBC].
That has been resolved and we are hoping the teenager can prove himself after all that trouble.
The Ibrox academy graduate wants to be playing with the big boys, and while he thinks he is ready, he needs to show everyone first.
A move to Partick Thistle or Dunfermline would be perfect for him, but he could be keen to wait and see whether Premiership sides would come calling.
AS Roma, Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Sheffield United were all linked with Kennedy last summer [Daily Record], and there is no denying that he has the potential and talent.
He was named among Europe’s elite youngsters in UEFA’s Youth League best XI earlier this week, and we cannot wait to see him start fulfilling his talents.
He needs to buckle down first and consistently show that he is ready for senior football, and hopefully, he does next term.
