Michael Beale thrilled when sending Twitter message to Rangers star Nathan Patterson

Michael Beale was left thrilled by Rangers talent Nathan Patterson as he made his senior Scotland debut against Luxembourg.

The breakthrough Bears talent came on with half-an-hour remaining, as the Scots won their final preparation game 1-0 ahead of the EUROs.

Steve Clarke now has the choice to make between Patterson and Stephen O’Donnell ahead of the first clash against the Czech Republic.

Beale took to his personal Twitter account on Sunday evening to react to the latest Ibrox development, and he was clearly blown away.

“Huge congratulations to Nathan and family,” he wrote.

“Excellent achievement and hopefully the first of many.”

This was an incredible achievement, although there is definitely still more to come.

Patterson proved that he is such a threat in attacking terms, and that could be vital for Clarke as he looks set to play three-at-the-back with wing-backs yet again.

O’Donnell hasn’t done much wrong during his time with the national side, but his attacking output is nowhere near as good as the Bears’ talent.

Could you imagine the Motherwell mainstay busting a lung into the final third and smashing home into the back of the net as Patterson did against Royal Antwerp? Certainly not.

Beale will be behind most of this success, along with Steven Gerrard and Gary McAllister who will be the perfect trio to learn from for a young and upcoming talent tipped for greatness.

With the EUROs around the corner, we cross our fingers that Patterson will at least be handed one chance to show his quality on the biggest stage, regardless of his experience.
