Alex McLeish blown away as Rangers reveal season ticket numbers

We’re delighted to welcome former Rangers manager Alex McLeish as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…

Alex McLeish has showered praise on the Rangers supporters after incredible season ticket numbers were revealed this week.

It has been confirmed that the Bears have passed 44,000 season ticket sales after the incredible unbeaten campaign behind closed doors last season.

McLeish insisted that the loyalty of the fans has never disappeared, even when we crashed down out of the Scottish Premiership and had to start again.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, McLeish said, “Absolutely.

“The word fan is short for fanatical, and that’s undoubtedly when you see the following, that is just the club with fans all over the world.

“This tells you how much they love the club, but in the last 10 years with relegations, you’ve also seen the loyalty and that says it all.

“This just reinforces.”

This truly is incredible.

After last year’s incredible success, there will be queues from one end of Glasgow to the other next season to see the mighty Bears.

With Champions League football also coming back to town, there will be a packed Ibrox nearly every single week for the next year.

Steven Gerrard will look at these numbers and simply smile, as it will reinforce to him that there isn’t a bigger club he could join as Premier League clubs come calling.

Not many English clubs can match that, with the Ibrox faithful one of the best in the world, this announcement proves that, and next season we will get to live it.
