Sir Kenny Dalglish: Steven Gerrard & Rangers will be ready for new Celtic challenge
Sir Kenny Dalglish has fired a warning at Rangers and Steven Gerrard ahead of the 2021/22 Scottish Premiership season.
It has been insisted that Celtic will be ready to put “severe pressure” on the Bears, as well as Hibernian, Aberdeen and St Johnstone.
Gerrard will want to keep this unbeaten run going as long as possible once the league kicks off again, and no one will be as prepared.
Writing in his Sunday Post column, Dalglish admitted that it isn’t just Celtic that the Bears will have to look out for next season.
“Steven now has to go and kick on again, and there will be severe pressure on him to do so,” he said.
“That said, most of the pressure will come from within.
“There will be a challenge to overcome in the next 12 months from Celtic, and Steven will be ready to face it head-on.
“But other teams will also have improved, and there will be the likes Hibs, Hearts, Aberdeen – and St Johnstone – to contend with.”
Celtic have a belief that Ange Postecoglou will be able to put pressure on Rangers should they successfully appoint him, something that still hasn’t happened.
St Johnstone will be riding the wave of success under Callum Davidson, after bringing home the domestic double this season.
Aberdeen have Stephen Glass at the helm, but his early results haven’t made us scared that he could do anything special next season.
All eyes will be on the mighty Bears, who have destroyed the competition.
Celtic have made fools out of themselves in the past year, and their pursuit of Eddie Howe proves that they have nothing special up their sleeves.
Gerrard will be ready, as will we, here’s to another year of domination.
