Bill Young left in hysterics over Rangers reported swoop for Oli McBurnie

Rangers have once again been linked with a summer transfer for Sheffield United forward Oli McBurnie.

The Daily Mail have reported that the Bears could launch a £15million move for the Scottish international after he was relegated from the Premier League.

The Ibrox club have reportedly turned down those rumours today though, with McBurnie consistently linked due to his boyhood roots in supporting the Gers.

Bill Young has responded to the links on his personal Twitter account on Friday evening, and he was left in hysterics.

“Rangers pay £15 million for McBurnie, and Elvis as director of football,” he wrote.

Laughable.

McBurnie has been consistently linked with a move to Ibrox, and it is simply lazy.

The 24-year-old has struggled since moving to Sheffield United from Swansea and has been nothing short of a shambles at Bramall Lane.

Add to that his recent injury that will keep him out of EURO 2021 for Scotland, and it would take him months to reach the maximum level at Ibrox, whatever that may be.

Alfredo Morelos, Kemar Roofe and new signing Fashion Sakala would all be ahead of McBurnie, and it would make no sense to spend this sort of cash.

£15million on a striker who scored one goal last season is hilarious, and we can all surely move on past this, that is until the same rumour comes up again next season.

Young isn’t the only one laughing, no one at Ibrox is taking this one seriously.
