Calvin Bassey and Bongani Zungu have poked fun at Rangers teammate Ianis Hagi over his affiliation with Pepsi.
The winger has featured in adverts along with Lionel Messi on multiple occasions and has his face plastered over a Pepsi cans [The Scottish Sun].
Bassey and Zungu managed to get some hands on those very drinks, and rubbed Hagi’s stardom in his face in a hilarious Instagram jibe.
The pair both dangled the drinks in front of Hagi saying “thank you bro, thank you bro”.
Hagi saw the funny side and could not help but break a smile due to the silly and light-hearted behaviour of his teammates.
Great squad spirit
It is great to see a player capture an insight into the Rangers dressing room and the mockery has been a welcome distraction from wider events in football.
We are not sure how Bassey and Zungu got the drinks but it is hilarious that they immediately chose to wind up Hagi.
Credit to the Romanian, too, as he reacted brilliantly and seemed to enjoy the attention.
It is a good example of the great camaraderie within the squad – that has been vital to our success just as our quality has.
Steven Gerrard has gradually built both throughout the course of his tenure and he seems to have brought in real characters.
His experience means he knows exactly what type of players to bring in and has the right balance of leaders and jokers in the dressing room.
Hagi has shot to fame because of the adverts and he has a great chance to build his profile next year by impressing in the Champions League.
