We’re delighted to welcome former Rangers manager Alex McLeish as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…
Alex McLeish has claimed that no Celtic players would get into the Rangers starting XI at this current moment in time.
The Bears have stormed the Scottish Premiership this season, and made it five Old Firm games without defeat on Sunday at Ibrox.
McLeish admitted that our fierce rivals have some quality players, but their current form is making it difficult to build a case for any of them.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, McLeish said, “For goodness sakes.
“Steven Gerrard would probably be happy to stick with the guys he’s got. With the season he has had with those guys, they’re in super form.
“Celtic players may have excelled over the past two or three years, but I don’t know if Edouard would get in with the season he has had.
“Right now, I would say that the Rangers team and the form of this season is not allowing me to get any of the Celtic players in.”
What were you expecting?
The mighty Bears have cruised to the Scottish Premiership title and currently have a 20-point lead in the table, as well as ending Celtic’s hopes of any silverware this season.
John Kennedy has been left red-faced this week, and we are ready to take every opportunity to rub the salt in his wounds after yet another embarrassing defeat.
It appears as though, no matter how many times we prove we are the team to beat in Scotland and Glasgow, everyone at Celtic can’t admit it.
The tides have changed, and it’s time to get used too it.
