Leeds United are preparing a £15million move for Rangers star Ryan Kent, according to The Scottish Sun.
The Whites have twice bid for the winger before and an £11million offer was hit back by Gers last summer, per the report.
However, Marcelo Bielsa is believed to be keen to get his man and has told Leeds director of football Victor Orta that there is a space for Kent in his squad.
Leeds are keen to get a deal done quickly and will first make sure Rangers and Kent’s new agent are interested in a move; Bielsa likes to get his business done early to ensure his squad is ready for pre-season.
Striking a deal
Kent is one of the most talented players in the squad and he is only getting better and better at Auchenhowie.
It is no surprise Leeds are still interested, and to be courted by a manager like Bielsa for so long shows Kent is a talented pplayer.
Jurgen Klopp is also an admirer, and called the 24-year-old “sensational” after a performance for Liverpool against Sevilla [LFCTV].
Such a player is worth a lot more than £15million, therefore, and Rangers should rebuff Leeds’ bid just as they did before.
The demand instead should be between £20-25million.
A figure like that would enable Gers to add a proven Champions League winger to the squad – allowing us to upgrade on Kent.
That is necessary if we are to continue building under Steven Gerrard, as selling Kent for a sum below his true value would signal a lack of ambition from the club.
