Confirmed Rangers starting XI v Cove

Rangers have made seven changes to their starting XI for the Scottish Cup Third Round tie against Cove on Sunday evening.

Steven Gerrard has decided to ring the changes, bringing in the likes of Jon McLaughlin, Jermain Defoe and Calvin Bassey.

Confirmed on Twitter prior to kick-off, the Bears have handed first starts to Scott Wright, but Jack Simpson will need to wait having been named on the bench.

We were excited to see the changes in the squad given the difference between the two sides at Ibrox this evening.

Gerrard will be wanting some of his rotation players to come into the squad and prove themselves before the season split starts in the Scottish Premiership.

With five league games to play, the Bears will be desperate to secure the invincibles season and they will need every last player in the squad to do just that, not just the first XI.

Mouth-watering tie awaits.

The draw for the fourth round of the Scottish Cup has already been made, and there won’t be many who have missed the huge clash ahead.

Should the Gers cruise past Cove as they are expected to, they will welcome Celtic to Ibrox in a potential fifth Old Firm clash of this incredible season.

Gerrard will be desperate to make it a domestic double, and it would be perfect to rub the salt into the wounds of our fierce rivals along the way; bring it on.
