Vladimir Coufal backs Ondrej Kudela after alleged racism towards Rangers Glen Kamara
West Ham defender Vladimir Coufal has defended Slavia Praha player Ondrej Kudela despite alleged racist abuse towards Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara.
The defender has travelled to Wales this week with his national side, despite initial reports he was set to stay at home over concerns for his safety.
Coufal shared that his national side have been accompanied by a significant security team as they continue their World Cup qualifiers.
Speaking to Sky Sports this afternoon, Coufal admitted that the Czech side felt very safe as they prepare to entertain Wales.
“Everyone in the Czech team stands by Ondrej,” he said.
“We are grateful that he is here, he is an important part of our squad. Other things won’t happen, and I can’t comment.
“I feel safe and our federation did everything for our safety, and we have a lot of security here.”
Blinded.
Of course, Kudela’s international teammates are going to stand by him, but that is because they will be going off what they have been told.
If Kamara addressed them and shared his side of the story, they would surely be outraged and disgusted over the allegations against him.
This is simply disgusting, and we honestly can’t believe that the issue still hasn’t been resolved by UEFA and the governing bodies involved.
Kudela is allowed to continue as if nothing has happened, whereas Kamara is having to relive the incident time and time again when standing for change.
The longer situations like this continue, the more often it is going to happen. This is unacceptable.
