Thierry Henry: Steven Davis has been critical to Rangers bridging gap to Celtic
Thierry Henry has singled out the signing of Rangers midfielder Steven Davis as critical to helping bridge the gap to Celtic in recent years.
The French legend also heaped praise on Steven Gerrard, and his ability to build the perfect side to bring dominance back to Ibrox after years in the shadows.
Rangers finally sealed their first Scottish Premiership title in a decade this month, and have the chance to finish the season as invincibles after the international break.
Speaking on the Robbie Fowler Podcast, Henry was clearly thrilled by what the Bears have managed to achieve this season in Scotland.
“What Stevie G has done is just ridiculous. What a man. I knew he was going to deliver,” he said.
“What I like is they gave him time to build a team. He was able to grab the players that he wanted to make sure they were going to play.

“When they got Steven Davis everyone went ‘what?’. He got Davis for a reason, to start a midfield with fresh legs in and around.”
Superstar.
Davis has enjoyed a record-breaking campaign this season and has recently overtaken Peter Shilton’s international cap record in Great Britain.
That is a testament to his strength, with the midfielder still performing at the highest level on the international stage as well as the domestic, too.
The 36-year-old has made 30 appearances in the Scottish Premiership this season, more than any other midfielder at the club, shining at every opportunity.
Gerrard needed that experienced figure in the heart of his side who knew what it takes to bring silverware home to Ibrox, and Davis has done exactly that this season.
We can’t wait to see Davis lift the silverware above his head, it will be everything that he deserves towards the end of this phenomenal career.
