Sky Sports broadcasting Rangers Old Firm specials on Tuesday night
We’re entering the dark depths of an international break but Sky Sports are at hand if Rangers fans want a fix of action tonight.
They’re showing highlights from two classic Old Firm games from the 2000/01 season, although Gers fans might want to skip the first.
That was a 6-2 paddling from Celtic at Parkhead.
The second game is a lot better – the 5-1 reverse at Ibrox three months later. This was the game when Dick Advocaat’s men came good and exposed Martin O’Neil’s Celtic side.
Goals came from a superb Barry Ferguson, Tore Andre Flo, Ronald de Boer, Lorenzo Amoruso and Michael Mols.
Following these games are extended highlights of Sunday’s Old Firm 1-1.
The action starts at 10pm on Tuesday night on Sky Sports Football, with Sunday’s Old Firm game starting at 10.30pm.
Break from club football could be good
International breaks are tough, although perhaps this one has come at a good time for our players.
The last two games will have been exhausting.
The Europa League game on Thursday was everything our Rangers heroes didn’t need, with Slavia Prague playing villains and knocking us out of the Europa League.
If there’s any justice they’ll get booted from the competition after what happened and their reaction after.
To pick ourselves up from that and go to Celtic and get a draw proves that this squad deserves their Invincibles season.
There’s still the 100-point barrier to play through as well and a couple of weeks off from the domestic game will do our players good.
In the meantime, we’ll make do with the Old Firm action on Sky Sports.
