Better than San Siro and Camp Nou – Slavia’s VP blown away by ‘enchanting’ Ibrox
Slavia Prague’s Vice-President claims Ibrox is the best stadium he has visited with his club on their European travels ahead of Thursday’s clash with Rangers.
Both sides will be looking to progress to the last eight of the Europa League tonight after last week’s 1-1 first-leg draw in the Czech Republic.
Tomas Syrovatka, Slavia’s VP, looks as if he has been given a tour of sorts around Ibrox and it is fair to say he was impressed with what he saw.
He took to social media to share pictures of his visit and he had a very strong message for Rangers after witnessing the ‘enchanting history’ of Ibrox.
Syrovatka tweeted, “See, with Slavia Prague we travelled through Europe. But nowhere, nowhere, nowhere have I experienced such a stadium.
“Incredible, enchanting history. Never rebuild it Rangers.”
It seems as though the Slavia VP has had the same reaction to Ibrox that we all had the first time we all saw it, utter awe.
It is worth noting that Slavia have played at Barcelona’s Camp Nou, Inter Milan’s San Siro and Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge in recent years so this Ibrox compliment is even more impressive.
Rangers will be hoping Syrovatka doesn’t leave the stadium with good footballing memories as the Gers look to make it to the quarter-finals of the Europa League
Making history is a habit Steven Gerrard has picked up in recent years and he’ll be looking to do that again by securing a place in the last eight for the first time in his managerial career.
Ibrox is the perfect place to do that and even though it will be empty, the structure is intimidating to visiting players and though a home advantage has been diminished this season, we’ll still have one.
